Energy Boosts

Lacking in energy? Try these quick fix tips to make you feel more energised.

  • Make sure you are hydrated, taking in enough fluids. We need fluids to live, by not drinking enough we are not running our bodies effectively. It's recommended for women 1.6 litres and for men its 2 litres per day.

  • Eat well. Make sure your diet includes whole grains, fruit, vegetables, lean protein and healthy fats. Foods good for energy - porridge oats - sweet potato - banana's - eggs - nuts - seeds - spinach - broccoli - lentil's - brown rice - lean meat - salmon - dark chocolate - kiwi.

  • Eat frequently; don't go too long without eating. Don't skip meals. Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner. Snack on fresh fruit in between, and if you are flagging eat a handful of nuts and seeds.

  • Sleep, try to get enough sleep. If you have trouble sleeping, make sure you are winding down before you go to sleep. Make time for sex, it helps you sleep, reduces stress, burns calories, and boosts self-esteem.

  • Increase the exercise you are doing, this can lead to more overall energy. Have you ever completed a work out and not felt better for it. Even a quick 10 minute walk can give you increased energy levels.

  • De-stress - try exercise, yoga, meditation, reduce your load, be positive, except what cannot be changed, help others, be organised, laugh, have safe sex, find your passion and sing.

Whatever you need to do to get your energy levels up, do it consistently.

If you are noticing a difference in your energy levels or are experiencing unusual tiredness, then consult your doctor or health care professional.
